what would be a good score in golf for nine holes?

QUESTION: I've been golfing for quite a while now id say 7, 8 years and i don't seem to be improving the way i should be. I'm on the golf team for my high school and at our country club (a par 37 front nine) i average a 42. I just can't seem to break 40. Is 42 a good average score or am I just bad? ANSWER:

Fine tune. Know the thing that is weak in your game. Low 40s is excellent for average but you are right cause you are consistent so maybe chipping, or putting. There is an old saying in golf. Never up never in. If that is you? Then work on your short game and putting. Make more 1 put greens. Good Luck for you.
