Q&A: Where is a good affordable place to golf in Ireland?

QUESTION: I'm going to Ireland in July 2009 and am looking for a good, affordable course to let me play and experience Ireland golf. I will be flying into Shannon and flying out of Dublin 7 days later. We will be driving the southern tip of Ireland with stops in Galway, Cork, Kilarney, and Dublin. Lots of good golf courses to choose from, just a bit north of Dublin is a very good classic links course called Laytown/Bettystown, very friendly, very good value for money. Your best bet would be to e-mail Eugene, use the link at www.ecgp.net, tell him where you are going, and your budget and he will work you an itinerary, he is not a rip-off merchant and runs an established business. Very hard to find a bad course, but they can be expensive. Happy golfing
