Q&A: How do I make a golf schedule for a professional country club?

QUESTION: I've been tasked to develop a a schedule of matches for a couples' golf league. There are eighteen couples that must play each other over the course of 17 weeks. I need to make this schedule keeping in mind that one of the couples are unsure if they will participate for the season and may cancel. How would I go about making this? ANSWER:

I would make the schedule as if they are planning on playing every week. If they cancel, void all of their matches before and after that point. The most important thing is that whatever you decide to do is clearly laid out prior to the matches begin or you will have major issues later. Members of a ladies league are almost always more particular about details than men are.
