Can I put ice in my Nike sport golf bag cooler pocket, without damaging the bag?

If you have any type of tear or hole on the cooler the water will run out as the ice melts. When I played in high school I always froze one bottle the night before and had a fresh bottle to drink until the other bottle thawed enough to drink. You could also buy a couple of the re-freezable ice blocks for coolers these work real well and aren'tt as messy as normal ice cubes.
