Watch PGA featured holes from John Deere Classic live on Yahoo Sports

With only six weeks until the FedEx Cup playoffs begin, PGA Tour stars will look to make a move up the standings this week at the John Deere Classic in Silvis, Ill. — the final tournament before next week’s British Open — and you can catch action from the first two rounds live on Yahoo Sports.

Yahoo will be streaming PGA Tour Live’s featured holes coverage Thursday and Friday from 4-7 p.m. ET on our golf page.

Fifteen golfers who have already qualified for the British Open will be competing at the John Deere Classic, including defending champion Ryan Moore and 2012 champion Zach Johnson, who feels right at home at TPC Deere Run.

“The John Deere Classic is a unique tournament for me,” said Johnson, who has six top-three finishes in the event since 2009. “It’s a tournament that supported me from the very beginning, and I won’t ever forget that.”

Johnson, at 103rd in the FedEx Cup standings, is among the PGA Tour star looking to improve his spot among the top 125 golfers who will make the playoffs. Bubba Watson, who sits at 118th in the standings, is playing in the John Deere Classic for the first time in seven years.

“You try to peak at that moment, right before the playoffs, to get on a good run,” Watson said. “I’m looking at the numbers and seeing what I need to do.”

Others of note in the field include Daniel Berger (2017 FedEx St. Jude Classic champion, ninth in the points standings), Brian Harman (2014 John Deere champion, 11th in the points standings) and Steve Stricker (12-time PGA Tour winner, 121st in the points standings).
