Ricky Barnes and Ryan Sheckler combine for a seriously cool giveaway at the Waste Management Open

The Waste Management Open is over, which means those hundreds of thousands of golf fans can go back into hibernation for a full year, only coming out when the biggest show in turf hits TPC Scottsdale in 2015.

But one of the best parts of Waste Management week is seeing what some of the players have planned for the fans on the 16th hole. We’ve already told you that the 16th is the most fun hole in all of golf, but with the creativity of some of these players, the short par-3 on the back nine can really bring them closer to the fans.

Ricky Barnes, a man that attended the University of Arizona during his college days, was at an Oakley dinner on Tuesday night when he and Ryan Sheckler, professional skateboarder and fellow Oakley athlete, decided to team up for a fun giveaway.

Barnes asked Sheckler to give him some skateboards with Sheckler’s autograph on them for his Friday round. After hitting his tee shot, Barnes ran under the tunnel, snagged these boards and tossed them to some very happy golf fans.

Sheckler had never been to the Waste Management, but he attended on Friday so he could see his boards go to good use, and some lucky fans got one of the most unique and creative gifts any golfer has ever handed out to the fans on the stadium hole.

What did some of the other athletes do?

Bubba Watson bogeyed the 16th on Sunday, a serious mistake for the leader late in the round, but he still pulled out a ton of Ping visors and tossed them to the crowd after despite having a ton of things running through his mind as he was searching for his first victory since the 2012 Masters.

Phil Mickelson tossed footballs to the crowd on Saturday, but after a double-bogey on the 16th he said he was going to stay away from this move on Sunday to avoid another disastrous score.
