Sometimes golf companies sign the latest golf star, and sometimes they just sign the latest star. Justin Timberlake and Callaway got together when the pop star got to A++ star status, and it seems Ping has decided to follow suit with one of the best Olympians of all time.
Ping announced on Wednesday that Michael Phelps would be joining their staff on the same day that the 22-time Olympic medalist would be paired with Ping staffer and Masters champion Bubba Watson.
Now Phelps joining Ping might not have PGA Tour winning implications, but you have to admit, those USA colors on his new G-25 irons are pretty sweet. And hopefully these clubs can produce another putt like this one that Phelps knocked in during last year’s Dunhill Links Championship.
