No matter how hard Pinehurst has played, Martin Kaymer hasn't seemed to notice. A few bogeys early in his round were probably as much nerves as the toughness of the golf course, but an eagle on the par-5 5th hole got him back to even for the day and seven shots clear of the field.
But Pinehurst finally tricked the man that has dominated it for the past two days on the sixth green, where Kaymer rolled his lengthy birdie putt completely off the green and down a hill, forcing the 2010 PGA Championship winner to grind out a bogey.
It was one of the only times this week we've seen Kaymer in real trouble, but a bogey with as big a lead as he has doesn't really hurt his chances, it just give us an entertaining video.
