Jordan Spieth and Arnold Palmer share an Augusta National locker

There are a lot of perks that come with winning the Masters, and 2015 green jacket winner Jordan Spieth is just starting to realize them.

Before playing in a pro-am in Florida last weekend (where he did the Happy Gilmore swing), Spieth made a trip to Augusta National to get in a few rounds. As a champion, Spieth is an honorary member of the club, so he gets the full member treatment.

“Everyone treating you (nicely), saying ‘Mr. Spieth, you have a tab, anything I can do for you?'” he said to Golfweek. “And here’s your new locker room.”

Oh yeah, since Spieth is a Masters winner, he has earned a special spot in golf’s most exclusive changing room. Augusta National has a Champions Locker Room, reserved only for Masters winners. Each winner, however, doesn’t get their own locker. In an effort to bridge generations of winners, who have an invite to play in the Masters for life, Augusta National has winners share lockers. Spieth drew a great locker buddy.

“I walked up to see who I was with, and I share a locker with Arnold Palmer,” Spieth said. “So it was a very special moment there.”

Palmer is a four-time Masters winner, taking the title every other year from 1958-64.

Spieth will have plenty more chances to get to Augusta National before his title defense in April. However, he seems to have nailed down a menu as host of the traditional Champions Dinner the Tuesday before the tournament. The 22-year-old is planning on serving barbecue from his native Texas.
