The PGA of America chose to move up the tees on the par-4 fourth hole for Saturday’s third round, giving players a chance to go for the green early in their round.
The fourth is only playing 292 yards, and most players are going with driver and trying to knock it on for an eagle chance. Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano nearly did one better when he got to the risk-reward par-4.
His tee shot landed just on the front of the green, and looked like it was tracking dead center for the albatross. It caught a bit of the lip, rolled past a few feet, and Fernandez-Castano rolled that putt in for the eagle (his playing partner, Danny Willett, also made eagle on the fourth).
