There are plenty of ways to express your frustration as a golfer. We’ve thrown clubs, cussed out ourselves, the golf course and the golf clubs, and blamed just about everything in sight for shots that didn’t turn out the way we wanted them.
For 25-year-old D.H. Lee, a new way of showing disgust happened on Saturday at the AT&T National. Lee hit an approach shot to the 12th hole at Congressional Golf Club, and as the ball bounced over the back of the green, so did his tipping point.
Lee gave the one-finger salute to what looked like the crowd at the time, but he admitted after the round that his gesture was simply to his golf shot.
“I’m sorry for that,” said the 25-year-old South Korean. “No, it was just for me. My ball. It was frustration. It wasn’t aimed at anyone.”
The video is above, and the image of him actually knocking out the ultimate hand sign is after the jump.
Take that, golf ball!
