It is nearly impossible not to love Charles Barkley. From his days in the NBA knocking guys around and scoring at will to his years behind the microphone for TNT, Barkley is one of the most honest, and fearless, announcers in the history of sports (if you don’t believe me, check out what he said to the people of San Antonio this week).
But the man’s golf swing … it’s just, not good. Barkley obviously knows this, going as far as being a pupil on “The Haney Project” on The Golf Channel, where instructor Hank Haney does everything in his powers to improve a celebrities’ golf game.
On Wednesday, it was Barkley who was playing in the Champions Tour’s Regions Tradition Pro-Am in Alabama, and lucky for us, someone had their iPhone out and captured the golfing mayhem.
His swing still has the hitch, his wisecracks are still on point, and if nothing else, he got to stroll around a golf course with Fred Couples and Bruce Pearl, so at least the stories were probably pretty amazing.
