Say this for Bubba Watson: He makes the fans part of the game. Earlier this year, he tagged a fan at the Zurich Classic who’d come to the tournament with the express purpose of seeing him, and on Friday, he pinged another bystander at the Tour Championship.
In this case, the approach shot banked off a fan and ended up hole-high at the fourth, allowing Watson to putt for par shortly thereafter. It was part of a 4-under round that left Watson tied for third, two shots off Jim Furyk’s lead. Careful, Bubba. You keep giving goodies away, people are going to start jumping in front of your shots.
