A one-armed man made a hole-in-one in St. Louis

If you visit this blog much, you realize how frustrated I get at all the crazy hole-in-one stories. I've been playing golf for decades, competitively at times, and have never made an ace, a family curse that has affected my dad (a 2-handicap during his prime) and my uncle (a 5-handicap that plays a couple of times a week).

But it's stories like the one you see above that make you forget your angst towards people in the Ace Club and just appreciate the extraordinary measures that some go to enjoy this incredible game of golf.

Ben Crocker is a 63-year-old man that lost his right arm in an accident at a railroad station some 40 years ago. If you think that stopped him from hitting the links you're wrong, because Crocker still plays a couple of times a week in St. Louis.

Crocker made a hole-in-one at Glen Echo Country Club in St. Louis, knocking it in from 131 yards on the ninth hole. It was something he said was on his "bucket list," and you have to be impressed that he not only still enjoys the game of golf, but can pull off a shot like this one.

Am I the only one that wants to bypass tradition and buy Crocker a drink for that shot? Great shot, Mr. Crocker.
