All the top courses as you already know are very expensive. Write the Chamber of Commerce or look on the web for park district golf courses and public play facilities. Be prepared to give up Saturday or Sunday AM for after 2 PM and all the golf you can play after 4 or 5 PM. Check with the old guys. As a single you can get in a Group. There used to be a card for this very purpose but I believe its over. Arizona Golfer.com is the best web site. Take a trip to Nevada outside of Vegas for some great deal in Loughlin and other towns. Casinos including Native American ones in Arizona comp golf if you'r a player in the casinos. Try Mesa Arizona too. Not the best layouts but not $ 350 a round either.
Good luck,
