QUESTION:
I’m going to Ireland in July 2009 and am looking for a good, affordable course to let me play and experience Ireland golf. I will be flying into Shannon and flying out of Dublin 7 days later. We will be driving the southern tip of Ireland with stops in Galway, Cork, Kilarney, and Dublin. Any opinions are greatly appreciated.

Lots of good golf courses to choose from, just a bit north of Dublin is a very good classic links course called Laytown/Bettystown, very friendly, very good value for money. Your best bet would be to e-mail Eugene, use the link at www.ecgp.net, tell him where you are going, and your budget and he will work you an itinerary, he is not a rip-off merchant and runs an established business.
Very hard to find a bad course, but they can be expensive.
Happy golfing
