Roberto Castro’s currently 109th in the FedExCup standings and a longshot to make it to the Tour Championship at East Lake next month, but thanks to this slam dunk ace on the 155-yard, par-3 14th at The Barclays, he may be around for at least one more playoff event.
The 27-year-old was sitting one-shot outside the cut line when he stepped on the tee. Hoping to conjure up a little late-round magic to make the cut and keep his playoff hopes alive, he produced one of the most impressive shots in golf, knocking the ball in the cup on the fly.
Castro ended up making the cut on the number thanks to the ace. Don’t be surprised if his good fortune ends up propelling him to a strong finish this weekend and a place in the Deutsche Bank Championship field.
