Tiger Woods and Lon Hinkle don’t have much in common. One owns 14 major championship and 74 career PGA Tour wins, while the other owns three career PGA Tour wins. But if there’s one thing that will forever link them together, it’s Firestone Country Club — a course that has produced some impressive champions over the years.
While the tournament names have changed over the years, Firestone has been a staple on the PGA Tour schedule since it first hosted the Rubber City Open in 1954. Since then, the course has gone on to host three PGA Championships and has been the home of the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational (it started out as the World Series of Golf) since 1976.
Needless to say, the course has seen some incredible shots over the years — from everyone from Woods and Hinkle (check out his skip-shot off the water during the 1979 event), to Greg Norman, Adam Scott, Jim Furyk and Phil Mickelson. Take a peek at the 10 best in the course’s history.
