Tiger Woods has been a beast this week at the Presidents Cup, hitting impressive iron shots close and making clutch putts and basically playing great team golf with Matt Kuchar to give the Americans a dominant group.
On Saturday that didn’t change, and while Adam Scott and Hideki Matsuyama were giving Woods and Kuchar a fight, it was Tiger that came up clutch late at Muirfield Village.
Sitting in the fairway some 238 yards from the pin on the par-5 15th, Woods pulled 5-wood and then made one of the best swings of the week, sticking his approach just a few feet short of the hole, a shot that was eventually conceded for the eagle and good enough to give the Americans a 2-up lead.
The shot reminded us of his approach shot on the 18th hole back at the 2009 Presidents Cup, when Woods made a great swing and then walked after his shot, winning that match and pleasing captain Fred Couples at the same time.
