Tiger Woods falls to the ground during final round of Barclays, unsure if he will play next week

On Sunday at the Barclays, Tiger Woods was making a late run at his sixth PGA Tour win of the season, and while his game was in order, it was his back that was giving him trouble.

Woods fell to his knees after his second shot on the par-5 13th, bringing back memories of the 2008 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines, leading to a bogey that cost him a shot at a playoff with eventual champion Adam Scott.

Tiger continued to fight despite visually struggling with his back, delicately picking up balls out of the hole and wincing a few times after full shots.

The pain didn’t stop Tiger from making a late run at Liberty National, adding birdies on the 16th and 17th to get within a shot of the lead and had about 30 feet for birdie on the final hole, leaving it a revolution short of going in to force a playoff with Scott.

Woods spoke briefly after his round, saying he is unsure if he will play next week at the Deutsche Bank despite it being the second leg of the FedEx Cup playoffs.

“I just got off (the course) and I’m not feeling my best right now,” Woods said.

The event kicks off next Friday at TPC Boston, with Woods, for now, scheduled to be in the field.
