Thomas Pieters was co-champion of the B-flight on Sunday at the Genesis Open, finishing tied for second with Scott Brown and five shots behind new world No. 1 Dustin Johnson.
However, while the up-and-coming Belgian had a great week at Riviera, he didn’t hit every shot perfectly. In fact, one wayward shot could have gotten him in a little trouble on the homefront.
In the final round, Pieters hit a tee shot that wound up striking a fan…and that fan was his girlfriend. A spectator took footage of Pieters learning that he had hit his girlfriend.
It's not everyday you witness a pro golfer @thomaspietersgolf hit his girlfriend off the tee with his drive. Hope Eva is OK!!! Obviously the couple was mine, and Pieters scored a huge paycheck, getting him a step closer to PGA Tour membership if he seeks it.
