We all know how competitive golf can be for high schoolers, collegiate golfers and the professionals we tend to watch on a weekly basis, but 7-year-olds? Yeah, it’s pretty much a battle for them as well.
“The Short Game,” a documentary that is set to release on September 20, follows a bunch of youngsters around as they attempt to qualify (and win) the U.S. Kids Golf World Championship at Pinehurst, and while the plot is enough to get me hooked, the production value of this trailer looks downright amazing.
Justin Timberlake, an executive producer of the movie, tweeted out the trailer in hopes of drumming up some interest and if nothing else he has a new fan of the movie in me.
As a former junior golfer who spent plenty of his childhood traveling in cars bunched between mom and dad, hoping that this tournament or that one might be the break I need to take my game to the next level, I can appreciate exactly what is happening with these young kids.
