PGA Championship tee times: Tiger Woods, Martin Kaymer, Keegan Bradley grouped at Kiawah

The WGC-Bridgestone Invitational is still the big story in the professional ranks, but on Friday the PGA of America tried to take a little bit of the spotlight away by releasing opening round pairings for the 94th PGA Championship at Kiawah Island’s Ocean Course.

As you’d expected with a major, officials grouped some of the best players in the world together, including defending PGA Champion Keegan Bradley, 2010 winner Martin Kaymer, and four-time PGA champion Tiger Woods, who will go off on Thursday at 8:30 a.m. EST.

There’s also the 2012 major winners grouping of Bubba Watson (Masters), Webb Simpson (U.S. Open) and Ernie Els (British Open) teeing off at 1:20 p.m, and a salty Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy, Jim Furyk threesome that’s schedule to go off the 10th tee at 8:10 a.m.

Also, if you’re looking for an intriguing grouping, take a look at Phil Mickelson, Davis Love III and Padriag Harrington. On paper it looks like three former PGA champions, but with Davis Love III captaining the American Ryder Cup team next month and Mickelson currently sitting in 7th in the most recent points standings (the top eight get automatic spots on the team), this could be a chance for Mickelson to prove his worth as a captain’s pick if he doesn’t make the team on his own merit.
