Traveling in the footsteps of Robin, Garfunkel, Oates, Jesse Pinkman, and Chewbacca, Louis Oosthuizen is now golf’s most famous second banana, having completed a remarkable feat: with his T2 finish at Sunday’s PGA Championship, Oosthuizen now has notched a runner-up finish in each of golf’s four majors.
His most famous second-place showing came in 2012, when Bubba Watson beat him in a playoff at the Masters with an ungodly shot out of the trees. But he also finished in a tie for second at the 2015 U.S. Open in Chambers Bay, when Jordan Spieth won his second major, and lost in a playoff to Zach Johnson at the 2015 British Open at St. Andrews.
Is he broken up by the constant close-but-no-cigar? Perhaps, but on a flight home from North Carolina, Oosthuizen had a bit of fun in the moment, with the help of Andra Day’s “Rise Up”:

Valiant effort, and a beautiful singing voice besides. At least Oosthuizen already has one major in his bag; this’d be a lot harder to take if he hadn’t already secured that.
