Jordan Spieth is a big Cowboys fan and has been on-hand at AT&T Stadium for several of his team’s games this season.
On Saturday night, Spieth had the opportunity to be an honorary captain for America’s Team as they hosted the New York Jets. Wearing the jersey of place kicker Dan Bailey, Spieth was at midfield for the coin toss. Bailey, who does look quite a bit like the reigning Masters champion, may seem like an odd jersey choice, but he’s the most accurate place kicker in NFL history. Maybe there’s an analogy there to putting, Spieth’s greatest skill.
The Cowboys, led first by quarterback Matt Cassel before former Boise State product Kellen Moore finally got the call, lost 19-16 to fall to 4-10 on the season. The Jets improved to 9-5 and are in position to scoop up an AFC wild-card playoff spot.
