We had heard all week that Oak Hill had the potential to play tough, but it took three days for it to happen. On Saturday at the PGA Championship a lot more players struggled with the course conditions, but one of those men that didn’t was Jonas Blixt.
Blixt, the 29 year old from Sweden, was playing a great round when he got to the tough 18th hole. An errant tee shot that actually landed in a fan’s pocket forced him to drop it in a strange lie, but then came one of the shots of the tournament at the PGA.
Blixt hit a 5-iron to a tucked pin, carrying it just far enough to get the soft forward bounce and end up just a couple of feet away for a birdie and a third round 66. He made the putt, and 6-under for the tournament might just play himself in the final group for Sunday thanks to that final shot and a great round on moving day.
