Ellie Day, wife of PGA Championship winner Jason Day, was involved in a courtside collision with LeBron James during Thursday night’s game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Days were sitting courtside for the game at Quicken Loans Arena when, during the fourth quarter, James went toward the sideline to save a ball heading out of bounds. He leaped toward the ball to save it, throwing it back in bounds. However, his momentum carried him toward the Days’ seats. James’ back was turned to Day when he collided with her, sending both of them backward to the floor.
After the game was stopped for several minutes, Day was taken away in a stretcher later taken to a local medical center. She was released in the morning.
James took to Twitter to apologize.
In November, Day, an Ohio native, delivered the couple’s second child, a daughter named Lucy. The family lives in Columbus.
