If there is ever any silver lining to a terrible tragedy it’s just how incredible certain people are at responding. James Driscoll, the runner-up in the 2000 U.S. Amateur and current PGA Tour player, is a Boston native and decided that he wanted to do something for the victims of the bombings that took place this week in his hometown.
Driscoll announced on Twitter that he would be donating $ 1,000 per birdie he made this week and next to something called the One Fund Boston, a charity that will help the victims of the bombings.
I am donating 1k per birdie this week and next. All money going directly to #theonefundboston . #birdiesforboston together.pgatour.com/players/23409.…

All the proceeds will go directly to the victims and really, how can you not love something like this? Driscoll might not be the most recognizable name on the PGA Tour, but for a player to do something like this is pretty honorable.
