For the most part, golfers love watching professional struggle. It isn’t mean-spirited at all, it’s just interesting to see even the best in the world get tricked up, confused and lost by this crazy game.
Not often does one of the best in the world do something that we can relate to, but that did happen on Thursday at the WGC-Cadillac Championship.
Henrik Stenson, coming off his best season ever in 2013, was paired with Adam Scott and Tiger Woods during the first round at Doral, and found himself right smack in the middle of the second fairway early in his round.
Stenson then hit the coldest of cold shanks, one of those “Tin Cup” type of shanks that would have fun down the driving range if he had been warming up left of all the players. Stenson went on to make a double-bogey on the hole, not the worst score we’ve seen this Thursday at Doral but definitely one of the strangest shots you’ll ever see from one of the best in the world.
