My, what a difference a week can make in golf. Just a few days removed from a win at the Deutsche Bank Championship, Henrik Stenson was really struggling during the final round of the BMW Championship, making a bogey on the par-3 17th and hitting his drive on No. 18 into the hazard.
Stenson, who came into this week leading the FedEx Cup standings, apparently thought it was time to retire his driver for the week, smashing it so hard on the ground that the head flew off.
We’ve seen Stenson flip out on the golf course before, but this smash of the club was a pretty serious one, and makes for a necessary trip to the TaylorMade truck before his opening round of the Tour Championship next week.
