Ahead of Thursday’s first round at The Honda Classic, several PGA Tour players marked Shine a Light on Slavery Day, organized by what’s dubbed the End It Movement, an organization committed to raising awareness about modern-day slavery around the world.
The organization estimates some 27 million people worldwide are held in slavery or slavery-like conditions. The day was started to raise public awareness to this issue, with the campaign teaming up with public figures, who wear a red X on the tops of their hands.
Among those participating in the campaign, TaylorMade-adidas staffers Dustin Johnson, Justin Rose and Stewart Cink showed their support on Twitter with images of the red X marks on their hands.
