It might not be the start of the PGA Tour season that we’re familiar with, but this change in the scheduling isn’t stopping some big names in the game from taking advantage while a lot of others are taking time away from the game.
Webb Simpson, a man who last raised a trophy at the 2012 U.S. Open, didn’t have his best season in 2013, but all that changed on Sunday at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. Simpson entered the final round with a hefty lead, but there were plenty of big names charging his way on the birdie-friendly TPC Summerlin.
Simpson made six birdies on Sunday to maintain his lead and win his fourth PGA Tour event on his career. Lucky for Simpson, no sign of the Jungle Bird after that final putt dropped in Las Vegas.
