Each day the PGA Tour players are out on a golf course, we see some sort of ridiculous golf shot. It might be a holed iron shot or a 380-yard drive or some crazy putt that goes in from hundreds of feet away, but the golf shots we tend to praise the most are the ones that come after people get themselves out of position on the course.
Brad Fritsch had that happen to him on Friday at the FedEx St. Jude Classic. Playing the 18th hole, Fritsch needed to hole out his second shot for an eagle to make the cut, but his tee shot got dangerously close to the pond on the left side of the fairway and it looked like his chances of making the cut were doomed.
That didn’t stop Fritsch from hitting a rather incredible recovery shot considering he was literally standing in the pond and the ball was above his feet, normally a fat shot just waiting to happen.
Fritsch popped it out on the green, two-putted for his par and despite not making a check this week, gave us a really fun highlight from TPC Southwind.
